Pixma 6420 not responding

Ruthgrnd2017

My printer is not reponding today. I can print from the printer, but not from the computer. It was working fine yesterday after doing driver updates. Today it is not reponding. Some inks were low so I replaced them (which I had to break into my Pixma 6400 because it would no longer power on).

So inks are full, will print test pages, all cables are checked, both have been restarted, plenty of paper and still nothing! Before I try to print, the print says it's idle but after I try to print it is no longer reponding.

Super annoyed and will not buy Canon again. Both were hardly used.

Thanks!

I am running Windows 10 and connected by USB.

Also the printer had not been used since I had used it yesterday,

Hi Ruthgrnd2017,

The unit may just need to be reset in order to resolve this issue.  Please unplug the power to the unit for a few minutes then plug it back in and power back on the machine.  Additionally, try plugging the unit directly into the wall outlet as opposed to a surge protector or power strip.  Attempt to print.
