PIXMA MP500 -- PRINTER HANGS IN 'PREVIEW' MODE'

Using MP500 under WINDOWS XP

 

When choosing to print a doc 2 windows appear:

1.  IJ PREVIEW.....    Which shows blank (green) screen with 'wavy blue pattern' at lower left of screen,  and

 

2.  CANON MP 500 SERIES PRINTER.     In this window the name of the document is shown with a STATUS of   "error-printing"

 

Any thoughts ?    Thank you

Hi david999,

 

I recommend removing the printer complelty from your Windows XP computer. Once the printer is removed, please restart your computer. After you computer restarts, please click HERE and download the MP500 MP Driver Ver. 1.03 (Windows XP x64) driver.

Arthur J.   Thanks for your help.  

Turns out the driver you sent was for 64 bit xp, and it did not work.

Since I have the 32 bit version I was able to get the correct driver and that has solved the problem.
