I DECIDED TO POST THE SOLUTION TO ERROR CODE 1660:
AFTER DAYS of inability to bypass error code 1660 (and I searched the entire cyber world to no avail) - "INK TANK IS NOT RECOGNIZED", I FINALLY discovered the solution, to this abyss of a problem, which does not require purchasing tons of new ink cartridges (which doesn't work-but pays Canon), which does not require a technician to come to your home/printer (for cost). which allows you the ability to return your printer to it's original reliable-printing, normal functioning device for which you originally purchased it for.

The video is gone from YouTube - and they removed your email address as weel. I'm at the end of my rope. I've cleaned the pins - the contact - not sure how to remove the printer head to clean that but something has to fix this Support Code 1660 on this MG71200! Your help is appreciated.

The 1660 error code on my MG5420 was caused by a bent pin under the large PGBK cartridge. It was not making contact with one of the pads on the cartridge. If any of you has this problem, remove the cartridge and inspect the contact pads. The pads should have a tiny indentation where the contact pin hits the pad. The pins are VERY fragile and not well seated. I was able to reposition the errant pin with a small screwdriver push.

The solution posted by Jason is probably incorrect and his activity probably cured a contact problem as I noted in my last (and first) post to this site.
