PIXMA G6020 not printing well

jlmaitri

Hello,

I am having trouble getting a good print quality from my PIXMA G6020 printer. It comes out faded and fuzzy. I have tried running the cleaning cycles, the deep cleaning cycles, doing a nozzle check, and a head alignment. Nothing that I do seems to really fix the problem.

I have the latest Mac OS and there is no driver download available on the website for this. I find the driver that is available in the print settings very limited. I am unable to change the paper settings and I think this may have something to do with the print quality? Does anyone know if I can get a better driver than the one that is provided?

Any suggestions are more than welcome!

Thanks so much

Hi jlmaitri,

The paper settings could be the cause of the issue that you are experiencing.

With the item that you wish to print open, please click on File and Print.

In the Print window, please click the "Show Details" button at the bottom.

Choose "Media & Quality" from the drop down box and then below that, please select your paper from the Media Type box.

I am having an issue with my Pixma G6020 printing as well.  When I print in Standard or Economy mode, the printing is out of alignment.  However, if I print in High quality mode it is fine.  It seems like the speed at which the printer head moves is having an effect.  See the attached image for an example.  On the right is the Standard print and on the left is the high quality print.  I have tried the head alignment proceedure several times, but I get the same results.PXL_20201102_203730544.jpg

Hi ColonialManor,

Please clean the encoder/timing strip in your PIXMA G6020.  To do this, please use the steps provided on this page:

Thank you so much for this suggestion.  It seems to have done the trick and my printing is coming out much better.
