My printer is telling me: there is no paper in cassette (upper)

I'm trying to print a word document. My printer is telling me: there is no paper in cassette (upper). I have never had paper in upper cassette, only lower. What should I do? I'm very frustrated. This printer is only a few months old.

Hi cbeers1,

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

 1.  Remove the cassette from your PIXMA MG5420.

 2.  Remove the paper from the cassette and restack it.  Place the paper back in the cassette.

 3.  Align the paper guides with the edges of the paper.

 4.  Check the page size setting on your PIXMA MG5420 and make sure it matches the paper size in the cassette.

 5.  Press OK.
