MX922 will not print correctly

Crispy47

Hello,

My Canon MX922 will not print black characters correctly (i.e., letters/numbers).  The colors print perfect.

I have been through all of the Maintenance items, including Cleaning and Deep Cleaning several times.  I have replaced the printhead, as well.  But when I print after a Cleaning, the PGBK line is faded and offline.  All of the color lines and the BK line prints perfect.

I tried to do both an Auto Allignment and a Manual Allignment, but cannot get the numbers and lines to print clearly enough to complete it correctly - I just had to guess at it.

The copier and scanner functions both work great.  I just can't read anything that is printed unless the words are printed in color, instead of black.

I hate to get a new printer, since I have several boxes of brand new C251XL and C250XL ink cartridges.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank, in advance,

Crispy47

Hi,

You can try cleaning the encoder strip inside the printer. Please click HERE for the instructions.

If this does not resolve the issue, the printer would need to be replaced. You would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call the Canon Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST.
