MX922 (another)

Just joined.

MX worked perfectly - then suddenly it will not make a Black copy - just a blank page..  I have tested (both wireless and LAN) with the nozzle program and it prints everything EXCEPT the Black section on top (PGBX).

I have cleaned many times and DEEP cleaned many times and changed the 250-PGBK-XL ink tank twice.

I ran the Diagnose and Repair Printer from the Canon Quick Menu - MX920 Series -

Print jobs left in queue - No: The printer port setting is incorrect - No; The printer is off-line - No; The printer is paused - No; The printer is set as a non-default printer - No.

Your driver of the printer is set up correctly.

Click [Test Print] to test the diagnoseded printer.

Get the nozzle page with out the Black PGBX on top.

I am using W7 - 64.

Thanks for you help,

Thanks - but your answer took too long.

I googled "how to remove printhead on MX922 Printers"  #PrinterRepair #CanonPrinter

Followed his instructions.  Cleaned the printhead with plain H2O and Windex - blew through a straw to get ink out of all the small places. I used a hair dryer - NOT heat - to dry it,

Install and everything worked.  The color copy had the black print perfectly. At the bottom is said I had only printed a little over 2000 pages.

Got me to thinking that after I deep cleaned - no ink was missing from the cartage.  Where could it have gone? It didn't go anywhere as it was plugged.

So - problem solved - so easy to clean your printhead first before trying something else.

Hello,

Since performing the cleanings have not resolved the issue, then the print head is bad and would need to be replaced. If the printer is in its 1 year warranty and you have a copy of the proof of purchase,  you can call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST to look into your warranty option.

If the printer is out of warranty, you qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST. Let them know you have been working with technical support and that the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I have a similar issue I think.

Last week I printed wirelessly from my computer.

Last night all that is generated when I "print" a document is a blank page.  I can print a test page from my printer...I cab print a .pdg from a memory stick but the printer won't print on a page sent from either my computer or my wife's computer.

I deleted then reinstalled the driver but no go.  Our computers recognize and sent docments to out MX922 but the only thing that's generated is a blank page.
