MX-922: ink cartridges

Why are there 2 black ink cartridges?  Is it necessary to replace both?

Hi, j-oconn!

 

Your PIXMA MX922 uses two separate black ink tanks.  One of these, the larger PGI-250 black, is for regular document printing.  The other, the smaller CL-251, is used for printing color graphics and photos, allowing for better reproduction of black and other dark colors.  You should receive an indication as to which of the two is running low, and the indicated tank is the only one that needs to be replaced at that time.

hi

just replaced my ink cartdriges. ran the printer test pages, aligned and cleaned the nozzles, turned the printer on and off and the printer is only printing in blue and green and yellow. can someone please help!!
