I'm not sure what happened to the previous postings/replys - but, the following it a reply from Canon and my reply.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Canon product support.

Over the last few years, Macintosh has moved toward a download-only process, largely because optical media like CD-ROMs cannot be updated for new operating systems.  As such, they have requested that we no longer include Macintosh software on CD.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you for choosing Canon.

Sincerely,

Bill

Hi Bill,

Then why is this information not noted in the description?

Information/Instructions should be included specifying
how to install/download the software for Mac.

The only thing the written instructions say under
the software installation instructions for Mac is that
Rosetta (which is no longer available as a download)
may first have to be installed before the software.

But, when I tried the software, there was no message
to this effect - as the written instructions claim.

And the description does indicate the MX922 is compatable
with Mac, giving the customer every reason to believe
the software will work.

As far as installation is concerned, the CD-ROM's do not need
updating - they should be good for the initally installation with
any and all updates coming directly from (in this case) the Canon
web site (as with most other software).

There really needs to much much better information for Mac
given by Canon on the MX922 and for that matter all other
Canon products good with Mac.

Thank You.
