MX-892 Printer/Scanner

I can't get my scanner to work on MX-892. It keeps giving message "Set the PC to start scanning" when I push the scan button on printer and push eith Black or Color button. It alwas work before and would park the scan in the MP Navigator EX area in the computer. The MP Navigator area is still showing on the desktop as is the MP Navigator 5.1 on the dsektop. I have ran the CD  and also looked at the instruction manual but can't seem to find a solution. HELP!!!!!!!!

What version of Windows is installed on your computer?

 

If you are using a Mac, what version of OSX is installed?

 

Are you using your PIXMA MX892 wirelessly?   or with a USB cable?

Windows 10, using wirelessly, 

Hi hunnerh2,

 

Please follow these steps to reinstall your PIXMA MX892:

 

 1.  Press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.

 

 2.  In the Run window, please type CONTROL PANEL and click OK.

 

 3.  Click on View deivces and printers.

 

 4.  Right click the "Canon MX890 series" and left click on Remove device.

 

 5.  Repeat until all MX890's are removed.

 

 6.  Click on Control Panel in the upper left corner, or the Back button.

 

 7.  Click on Uninstall a program.

 

 8.  Click on the "Canon MX890 series MP Drivers" and then click Uninstall at the top.

 

 9.  Follow the on screen prompts to uninstall the drivers.

 

10.  Once uninstalled, please reboot your computer.

 

When the computer restarts, please reinstall the driver:

 

 1.  Please use this link:

 2.  Click the Select button next to "MX890 series MP Driver Ver. 1.03 (Windows)" and then click the Download button.

 

 3.  Once downloaded, please open your downloads folder and double click "mp68-win-mx890-1_03-ea24.exe" to reinstall the drivers.

 

When the installation is complete, please attempt to scan.
