MP180 Black inc warning - new cartridge

Dosferra
Apprentice

I have 2 new cartridges in my MP180. Color and black. I printed 2 pages out and now I get the black inc warning.

I tried reset it. I have tried to remove the cartridge and clean it and put it back.

Nothing helped so far. What do I do?

Where can I get the reset software for the printer?

Hi, Dosferra!

If you aren't already doing so, please make sure you're using genuine Canon ink cartridges.  These cartridges feature a microchip which reports the ink level to the printer, and if you're using a non-Canon cartridge without that chip, the printer will continue to see the ink cartridge as empty and it will react accordingly.

If you're still having trouble, search our knowledge base or contact our US-based technical support team at http://canon.us/SupportCF

Thanks and have a great day!

I had the same cartridges for 5 years so don't tell me that I need to buy your specific product for the problem to resolve itself.

I had new ink cartridges and printed a few pages with them as well.

"please make sure you're using genuine Canon ink cartridges" really.....?

I also called the support.

"Ok, i will send you a trouble shooting guide by mail"

No mail.

Step up your support game. It is pretty **bleep**.

I had to solve the problem myself.

Tip, it had nothing to do with it not being a canon ink cartridge.
