MP 980 and Windows 10

I have the MP 980 printer, paid a lot for it and it's been some years now that I can't use it since operating system moved up to Windows 10. It seems outrageous that Canon will leave customers in the lurch like this. I've searched once again in a last ditch attempt before having to get rid of this expensive piece of equipment, but have come up empty. Does anyone have a way for me to use my printer??? I've tried downloading other drivers and tried selecting compatibility but Windows 10 doesn't even show on the list. I also tried the compatibility troubleshooter, no go.

What a waste if I have to get rid of this printer 😞

You are correct, the PIXMA MP980 is not supported with Winodws 10.

 

You can use the Windows 7 drivers from our web site to install on Windows 10 and get your printer working with your computer.

 

To access the driver download, please use the following link:

Once on that page, select Windows 7 or Windows 7x64 from the Operating system drop down box and driver (MP980 series MP Driver Ver. 1.03) will appear.

 

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I already gave away the printer because I didn't think I could use it anymore. I had tried to download different versions of Windows before doing that; none of them would install. 

I wish I had known about the upgrade before giving the printer away. Would I still be eligible?
