MG7520 power flicker and won't stay on

I have a Pixma MG7520 that is 5+ yrs old.  It was working fine a couple days ago, but is now off and won't power on.

If I pull the plug, wait 30 seconds, plug back in, touch the power button, I see the white power indicator come on and then there is a flash of light from the rest of the display panel, but then all lights go out and the printer does not complete power on.

If I touch the power button again, nothing happens.  Only after pulling the power cord, waiting and plugging back in, do I see the same flicker on the display behavior.

Is this behavior indicative of something that can be fixed?

Thanks!

Hi cvx16,

Please make sure that the printer is connected to a wall outlet, as the issue that you described can be caused by too many devices connected to a power strip/surge protector.

If your PIXMA MG7520 is connected to a wall outlet, it would appear that your PIXMA MG7520 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 seven days a week, 8am to Midnight. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
