MG5420 has lines after printing

My  MG5420 all of a sudden has lines through it. I have cleaned the printer heads like suggested and aligned it, but it is still doing it.  Any other suggestions?

Hi nsrush83,

 

Because printhead cleanings did not clear this, the issue could be caused bythe encoder/timing strip in your PIXMA MG5420 being dirty or smudged.  To clean the encoder/timing strip, please follow the steps outlined in the following Knowledgebase Article available from Canon's web site:

If the issue persists, your PIXMA MG5420 would require service. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program.  This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.  This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
