How do I find my Canon printer model name to download drivers by just knowing the serial number?

Hi JustaGuy, You can determine the model number by looking at the unit. The model name will be listed either by the LCD/LED display or on the front of the unit. If you are unable to locate it, please provide the serial number (just the letters) and we can tell you what model you have.

Hi, robogon!

 

If your serial number begins with "KJCU," your printer is the US-spec PIXMA MX472.  This model name should be plainly visible on the front of the printer.
