Firmware Update Bug Regarding Local IPv6 Network in G7000 Series (or Possibly Other Models too?)

loyukfai
Contributor

Router / local network is capable of IPv6 protocol but ISP doesn't provide IPv6 address

Printer is able to check for new firmware (it alerts you that new version is on server)

But is unable to update until IPv6 is disabled

BTW where can I find the update/firmware history?

Cheers.

Hi loyukfai,

To disable IPv6 on your printer, please follow these steps:

1.  Please press the wrench and screwdriver button 1 time

2.  Use the right arrow to select Device Settings and press OK

3.  Use the right arrow to select LAN settings and press OK

4.  Select Wi-Fi and press OK

5.  Use the right arrow to select Manual setup and press OK

6.  Use the right arrow to select TCP/IP settings and press OK

7.  Use the right arrow to select IPv6 and press OK

8.  Press OK on the displayed message

9.  Press OK on Enable/disable IPv6

10.  Use the right arrow to select Disable and press OK

Thanks! Sorry forgot to mention that I figured it out already. However I believe it should be something to be fixed in future firmware?

Cheers.
