There is still no answer that works despite multiple hours with Canon Tech Support and following all the recommendations here. Scanner will not communicate with MacBook Pro with High Sierra OS. Printer works with wireless and cable. Copier works fine.
After loading the IJ Scan Utility, it will not open it goes back to the error message so there is no access to the dropdown menu.
Any Soutions?

Hi gmos,
Disabling IPv6 should resolve this issue:
1. Turn your PIXMA TS5120 on.
2. Press the HOME button.
3. Swipe the screen from right to left twice.
4. Select Setup.
5. Select Device Settings.
6. Select LAN settings.
7. Select Other settings.
8. Select TCP/IP settings.
9. Select IPv6.
10. If the "LAN communication may be..." message appears, select Yes.
11. Select Enable/disable IPv6.
12. Select Disable.
13. Press the HOME button.
