Canon Pixma MG5300 printing dimensions are off?

I got my Pixma MG5300 several months ago and I've always had this problem, I have no idea how to fix it.  When I print photos, regardless of the size I select, it always prints slightly bigger or slightly smaller than what I've selected.  For instance, I just tried to print an 8 x 10 and when I selected the "borderless (full)" option, it printed 8.25 x 10.25--and I'm sure it would've printed taller if it hadn't cut off the top quarter-ish inch of the picture--and when I tried again with the "bordered (full)" option, it printed about 7.5 x 9.75.

ETA: I'm running Win7 and I'm using the software that was included with the printer to print. There's the little pop up bubbles on my desktop; I click on one the one that says "photo print" and go through the prompts to choose my photo and size and stuff.

Why is it doing this?  How do I fix it?  Please help!

Hi rsecord!

To have a better understanding of your issue, please let everyone know what operating system (Windows Vista/7/8 or Mac OS 10.X) you are using and what software you are trying to print from. That way, community will be able to assist you with suggestions appropriate for your product.

Oh gosh, duh! I'm sorry! I'll add this to my OP as well: I'm running Win7 and I'm using the software that was included with the printer to print. There's the little pop up bubbles on my desktop; I click on one the one that says "photo print" and go through the prompts to choose my photo and size and stuff.
