Hi. My Canon PIXMA MX922 prints wavy lines and ghost images. I've ran EVERY diagnostic and I have also cleaned the clear strip inside the printer. HELP!!! Is it just the printer's time to expire?

Hi Chris2021 and JessesGirl,
Having a smudge on the encoder/timing strip will cause the behavior that you have described. Please make sure you are cleaning the whole strip, from right to left. To clean the encoder/timing strip, please follow the steps outlined in the following Knowledgebase Article available from our web site:
https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART142447
If the issue persists, your PIXMA MX922 would require service. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 seven days a week, 8am to Midnight. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

I tried cleaning the timing strip several times and still get ghost lines. It only hapens with fine letter and fine lines. When I print the test patern after cleaning the fine line grid has the ghost lines only in the center the top and bottom are fine.
