Cannon MX432 Scanner not detected by Windows 10

anujadalal

I am using Canon MX432 Printer/Scanner which was working fine till I updated os to Windows 10.

After installing driver for Canon MX432, my printer started working fine. But Windows is still not recognizing scanner.

I tried using IJ Network Scanner Selector but no use.

Somebody suggested MP Navigator, but I do not find version for Canon MX432.

Error that scanner gives is "PC not connected".

Hi, anujadalal,

Let's test the hardware by initiating a scan from the computer.

  1. Type "IJ Scan Utility" in the search box in the lower left of the screen.

  2. Open IJ Scan Utility.

  3. Place your original.

  4. Press the "ScanGear" button.

  5. Press "Preview."

  6. If you are happy with the image, press "Scan" to complete the operation.

Are you able to acquire an image?

Hello,

I have the same problem.  Unfortunately, when I run the utility, the 3600 series printer from my second home is the only printer available.

Help & Thanks!

Hi bcalski,

So we can assist you, we will need to gather some more information. Please write back with answers to the following questions:

  • What version of Windows or Macintosh is installed on your computer?
  • Is the printer connected directly to the computer with a USB cable, or wirelessly over the network?

We look forward to your reply.

Hi Arthur,

I'm running Windows 10.0.17134.407.  My printer is connected via WiFi and prints fine.

Thanks for your quick response!

Hi bcalski,

If the printer is not listed in IJ Scan Utility, the scanner driver may not have installed correctly. Please remove the printer from your Windows 10 computer and then reinstall the driver.

After you select the wireless connection option in the installer, a box will appear that shows the drivers installing. It may go by really quick but please let us know if you see the scanner driver install during the setup.

We look forward to your reply.

Hi bcalski,

Since the scanner driver did install, I would like to see if you can scan from paint. This will allow us to test the scanner driver since the printer is not listed in IJ Scan Utility.

To scan from paint, please open paint on the computer and select "File" in the upper left hand corner. In the drop down menu select "From scanner or camera" and try to scan from there. Does the image scan?

We look forward to your reply.
