Cannon MG2440 Windows not connecting

Good Day,

I just bought a cannon MG2440.

It is a wired printer.

I inserted the CD and installed the software and finally got to step 3 where I need to connect and switch on the printer.

Unfortantly, windows is not detecting the printer. I checked my cable connection and also restarted the computer and printer as instructed by the help menu to no avail.

Could you someone please advise me on how to proceed to connect this printer.
