"Stephen", Canon moderator:
>"Canon is listening, and we appreciate your comments."
They have someone monitoring this thread and immediately deleting any links or anything against their policies. Okay, we know that.
>"We are investigating and expect to have a resolution soon."
Really? What exactly are you investigating and how? And if you expect a resolution soon, what have you learned so far? What form is this resolution going to take?
"Updates will be shared as information becomes available."
No, there have been no updates whatsoever, and I would not really expect to see any in the future.
"Thanks for your feedback and participation in our forum."
"Stephen", please give us something besides the usual corporate placating line of BS. Thanks.
Edit: I see that you are active daily, including today. Please respond to my questions. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to assume that Canon and its moderators are intentionally ignoring important questions regarding the printers we have purchased.
I have messaged Stephen asking for a reply to our questions about his claims.

Yeah... I called today too. The offered me a new printer to purchase that OF COURSE used DIFFERENT ink than this one.. but would send me a new set of ink. This is the SECOND printer to do this to me... I'm paying you people NOTHING. I went and bought an Epson today.

Add me to this ever-growing list of disgruntled Canon customers.
My MX860 has been working perfectly fine for the past 2 years. Suddenly today, when I attempt to print a PDF document, I get the dreaded U052 error.
I call Canon's customer support and talk to a friendly fellow who offers to sell me a new printer at a reduced price with free shipping. Of course, no offer is made to FIX my existing printer.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but since these printers are connected to a network, it would be all too easy for Canon to send a firmware update that they know will cause the printer to stop functioning, in the hopes of increasing their sales.
This entire situation STINKS!

Put me on that list. Extremely frustrating. If no viable solution if discovered soon, I will leave canon and not look back. Nothing like throwing money away.....

MP-620B same issue!!! Major time waster trying to reset this U052 non-sense. "Wrong printhead" WOW! Worded differently I may not be so pissed off! I was one click away from biting the bullet and buying the new "wrong" printhead. Then I ended up here...

Even though my Canon was only a little over a year old when I got the evil UO52 error, I went to the Apple Store and bought an HP prinetr yesterday. I'm done with Canon.

I got this U052 error two days ago on my MG5320. I've contacted Canon support and they offered a 25% discount on a loyalty program or to send my printer to a service center. That "loyal" programs offers me a MG5520 printer for $114. You can buy that printer at Amazon for about $80. So the loyal program is not really loyal. I've haven't been offered for a replacement as others have said. I guess their printers are under warranty. I have to return to an old canon printer which has 9 years old (and a year turned off) to keep printing and it worked fine.

Yeah... I almost bought a new one for my printer and instead just bought a new printer because it isn't all that much more than the **bleep** printhead and I knew it would work. Jokes on me when the next POS did the same thing. I WILL NEVER BUY CANON AGAIN!
