Re: Call to Arms for the dreaded U052 Wrong Printhead Error

I do medical billing from home and have 3 printers going at all times for various forms and for certain functions like scanning documents into system etc. I HAVE HAD IT WITH CANON ! I have an old Lexmark from around 2006 and it is still going strong! I bought a used HP J4550  and it is doing fine. Why can't Canon get there product to last longer than a year this is my second one my Pixma gave out after one year with a stupid error message that would not clear stating the overflow ink tank was full but it was clean. Now my Canon mg 5320 has error stating wrong printhead really ? What a piece of garbage well Canon Never and I mean Never again will I buy another printer that only lasts at the most 1 year with light use I use my canon mainly for scanning documents and I occationaly print pictures for myself. I am all for joining a lawsuit over this as  I don't have money to keep replacing printers. HELLO CANON DO YOU CARE???

Oh I can answer that question for you. Just by every person on here and on other sites have stated. They do not care. Even a few of us that are tech savvy enough to dive into a printer and attempt to fix their issue, we get no support for trying to help.

I am a victim of this error as well.  Canon only offers to sell me a new printer.

Re: Call to Arms for the dreaded U052 Wrong Printhead Error

I fixed this message on my Canon MP600 by following your instructions somewhat. The message U052 displayed after changing 2 colours cyan and magenta. I put the old cartridges back and got the same message. As per your instructions I removed all the print colours. I tried to lift the lever on the right but quit as I was afraid I might break it. I pressed down the lever and heard it click. Then I put all the colour cartridges back in (new colours not old ones). I was very happy to see that the message had gone away. If this happens again I might just try to press the lever on the right beside the colours and make sure it clicks into place. Thanks for your instructions Julius. Hbanush

Re: Call to Arms for the dreaded U052 Wrong Printhead Error

I have a MX882. It has been a really strong and great printer for like three years, and then, I got the U052 error. Cleaned the head, etc. but nothing changed.

What gets me is this totally shutsdown the entire unit. The user should at least have an option to override the error or at the VERY least be able to use the scanner.

Honestly, I understand stuff breaks and wears out, but I probably wont' buy another canon.
