CANON PRINTER 5400 - Printer not accepting INK REFILLS from Costco - saying Support 1600

Message says I should replace INK Tanks -

 

I just put in original - all refilled - ink cartridges that came with printer when I bought it at Costco only 6 months ago...

Costco did the refills...

 

Anyone know why I'm getting Support code 1600??  ...

 

"The ink may have run out

Replacing the ink tank is recommeneded"

 

How do I correct this situation?

 

I've done everything I can think of - rebooted the printer, downloaded new Canon printer driver software for the 5400...
