B/W 8x10 high-resolution photo fades to magenta.

Canon MX-882 prints B/W grayscale (with skip lines) at standard resolution, but when used at high resolution the black fades, and photo comes up pink/magenta!  The black ink cartridges are new and seem to flow okay.  Why magenta ink if it's a b/w print?  Is this a printhead issue or ink issue?

Hello.

When printing photos, the printer will use combinations of the color ink tanks to create black and grey tones.

If the colors are fading, there may be an issue with the printer itself.
