Sx730 won't stay connected

I recently bought a Canon SX 730. When I try to use the Camera Connect software on my iMac camera connects just Fine then it disconnects will not stay connected anybody have any ideas on this. This camera next to my iPad just find a transfer of the images and everything like it is supposed to. It also connects to my android telephone it works just fine. Just can't figure out why it won't stay connected when it is used on the iMac.
