I carried my brand new Canon Power Shot Elph 340 in my purse. When I took it out, it has several scratches all across the screen. What can be done to fix this problem?

Unfortunatley there is nothing than can be done for that other than replacing the LCD.
Even a very light, fine abrasive cream is likely to leave fine scratches on the LCD but might make deeper scratches less noticable.
If you bought or buy the extended warranty with accidental damge protection youd be covered for such things
