Problem with Displayed Date

My wife has a Powershot SX60 and the date keeps reverting to January 1, 1980.  We can reset it but every time she turns the camera off, the date reverts to 1/1/1980.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Re: Problem with Displayed Date

Sounds like it could be a battery problem.  Check the manual to see if there is a separate battery, just for the clock, too.  Otherwise, a call to Canon Service may be needed.  1-800-OK-CANON.

Hi Mjschocken,

From your description, the built-in backup battery in your wife's camera will require service to correct this issue.

You may setup the repair of your camera at this site: https://www.usa.canon.com/repair.  Once on our site, click on "Request Product Repair". On the next page, you may create an account or log into your existing account. You may also choose the "Continue" button to "Continue without an Account".
