Powershot SX540 HS Blank White Screen

BanjoThreeie87

I just bought this camera, and after doing normal setup, and finally turning it on, all I see is a blank white screen.

I can take photos and press buttons and hear sounds when doing so, but I can't see anything on the screen.

I tried googling around, but didn't see anything related to my issue.

Support is also closed for the weekend.....

Please help if you can!

Samsung - EVO Plus 256GB microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card.

I'm using the adapter that came with it.

I'll try your method in a little bit here.

The micro-SD cards are highly NOT recommended.  I have never used Samsung, just Lexar and mostly Sandisk.  I do not have a card larger than 64 GB, either.  I think 256 GB is probably way more than what that camera should use.

[EDIT] It sounds like the camera does not work, though.  Get a refund.

Greetings,

What brand / type of memory card are you using with the camera?

Remove the battery and card.  Wait a minute.  Now reinsert the battery.  Turn the camera back on.  What do you see?

Next move the selector dial between mode and set to Auto.  Anything?

Press the > (Play) button on the back.  Anything?

If not, call Canon or exchange the camera.
