PC stoped recognising my camera

After  updating of  drivers in my PC it stopped recognizing my canon Powershot camera which before worked witout any troubles . I downloaded my canon camera software again to PC but problem persist. Any advise?

I always use a card reader instead. Pop the card out of the camera, into the card reader and plug into the USB port.
