I'm also experiencing this problem. The battery is fully charged. When inserted into the camera, there is absolutely no response. Power button doesn't power the camera on. Everything is black. I've cleaned the battery chamber to ensure clean contact is made, still nothing. Are there any solutions out there?

Both the door for the battery compartment and the memory card slot should have a sensor switch to detect when the door is fully closed. If the door is determined to not be fully closed, the camera will not power up.
