Connecting to Image.Canon Wifi Date Time Error

kmsheetmetal

Hi I have 2 sx530HS and both were setup with Image Gateway and all was working fine no problems until the shutdown of the server.  Today I tried to connect them to the new Image.Canon server and every time I try the update cloud button on the cameras as decribed in the setup from image.canon I get "Set the correct date and time" on both cameras.  The correct date, time and time zone is correct on the camera.  I've searched through several posts on here from others having similar issues in the past saying you need to change the camera name to something else before trying to connect, or completely reset the wireless settings like it was a brand new camera. None of that worked.  I logged into the new image.canon and deleted one of the cameras that I guess was transfered over from image gateway and that had no effect.  Am I missing something or is the service not fully up and running.  Any help would be great as our company uses these for shipping picture verifcation and manually transfering images takes a ton of time and is the only reason we bought these cameras is so we could transfer pictures automatically.

Thanks.

The SX530 HS is one of the compadable models just click on the dropdown on EOS and change it to PowerShot it should work but as stated I keep getting time date error when trying to update the camera

Our team was just made aware of the problem yesterday. We apologize for the confusion, but we're working on it!

I appreciate your problem.  You are stuck with cleaning up someone else's mess.

Good luck.

Thanks!! the firmware update fixed the problem both cameras are connecting again

@kmsheetmetal Did you lose any images on your camera when you did the firmware update?

Once I deleted my WiFi settings and reconnected, I think I have the new image.canon downloader work.

Thanks, Canon, for resolving the issues.

How about my PowerShot SX60? I'm having the same issue with Wifi Date/Time error. Please help!

The programming team ought to be smart enough to keep the old program running alongside the new one for cameras like mine. Anything else is just laziness and a lame attempt to cut costs while pissing off longtime customers. I am waiting to see an update that will restore WiFi on my SX700 HS. It's hard to avoid feeling that Canon is shamelessly trying to manipulate people into spending more - it reminds me of the Canon all-in-one printers that refuse to scan unless all the ink cartridges are in place with ink in them.

I could not agree more about Canon. They shot themselves in the foot on a few counts. First you can't reach tech support easily.

I use my SX700HS to capture long shots in the Glades. The form size is perfect for carrying while biking. It needs a simple firmware update to continue to use the post to web service.

We have 3 Canon printers and several Canon cameras. Was thinking about a top-level EOS but no more. There are better alternatives. Canon's tech support used to be top notch...Too bad.
