Sounds very short, but we need to know what model Canon camera you are using this battery in, how old the battery is, and if you are getting the battery to fully charge. Are you using the zoom a lot, and perhaps the flash? Is this occuring using the camera for still photos, or video, or both? How long has it been from the time you charged the battery until you used it? Rechargable batteries do lose power just sitting around. Thay should be charged just before you use them to get the longest life from them. These are all things that can affect battery life.
