hi all! I am a first time photographer and love my sx740… however I recently ran into a problem with it whilst on vaca. I used the flash quite frequently and during my last day, it all of a sudden stopped working and continued giving me an error 70. After days of researching what this was, it’s randomly turned on and off a few times… but most of the time says my camera is busy. When I try to reset the camera, and or reconfigure the sd card, the camera says it’s too “busy” to do so. I have also tried multiples times to take the battery and sd card in and out to restart the camera, along with replacing it with an entirely new sd card. None of this has worked. Please help! I’ve only had this camera for 3 months and have never damaged it or used it excessively. I really love my camera and don’t have the $$$ to pay hundreds for a big fix. Thank you!

Greetings kourtneycnsx740,
I'm sorry to hear about the malfunction issue you are having with your PowerShot SX740 HS camera. An Error 70 relates to an image related malfunction being detected by the camera. The first thing we would have suggested to do is to swap to a different memory card to see if this helps resolve the issue, but it appears that you have already tried a new SD card. In case you are using a microSD card that slides into an SD Adapter which then goes into the camera, then please try testing the microSD card with a different SD Adapter or test a standard sized SD card.
If the issue persists, then the next step is to suggest on sending the camera to our facility for service. I understand you have only had the camera for about three months.
