Unable to download videos from PowerShot Elph 340 HS connect to iPhone or iMac

I have a Canon Powershot Elph 340HS that I've used for many years. Whenever I try to download a video from the Camera Connect app to my iPhone, the video will not allow a download and instead will show a yellow exclamation mark saying the format is not supported. However this only occurs when the video is over two minutes long. If the video is 1:30 or shorter, it will download fine. I bought a USB A-male to Mini-B cord to use the a/v digital output to connect to my iMac and send the videos that way, but they entirely don't show up, only photos. I'm also unable to download the necessary software onto my iMac as I am running on macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. Is there any solution to this issue?

Have you tried right clicking on the movie clip on the memory card, and choosing Share then select AirDrop to send it to your iPhone. That works fine for me even if I have multiple movie files selected.

The easiest solution is to use a card reader connected to your Mac and take the SD card from the camera. Then you can copy the files to the mac using finder.

Thank you for your reply. I tried this solution and it also did not work as my iMac still says the file type is not supported and I can’t open it within any application I have. Do you know if there’s any application I can download that would be able to open these file types? On my iMac, the canon files end in .CTG

The files ending .CTG are not the movie files. Movie files end in .MOV, .MP4, .AVI so look for those on the card. Normally they will be saved to a folder inside the DCIM folder, you will possibly see 100CANON as the folder under the DCIM and the movies should be in there.

Yes! I was able to find the correct movies, however I am still unable to download them through any application. Which, similar to my reply before, is there any application you know that I can use to download these movie files in order to be able to send them back to my phone?
