Dear community,
I am trying to take G5X photos of people under bright stage lights.
Sometimes the G5X seems slow doing autofocus. The 2 or 3 people on stage are moving while speaking to an audience. I am as close as 10 to 20 feet away from the subject people. There are spotlights and colored stage lighting all over the stage. I am missing some shots because the G5X does not shoot at the right time because of a delay after pressing the shutter button.
What are the best settings to use for this kind of venue?

This is why you use a DSLR.

Can you post a sample shot or two with the EXIF data attached so we can see exactly what camera setting you are using? From some sample shots posted online the GX5 seems capable of taking better than average pictures under low light conditions. The cure for your problem may be as simple as learning how to use manual focusing or holding the focus lock button and increasing the ISO setting as required.
