Hi I really need someone to help me because I spilled a liquid on my camera and it won’t turn on I went to a camera repair store and they told me cannon doesn’t sell parts to my cam anymore and I should talk to canon to see if I can send in my camera and get a new one and pay the difference they said it happens in some cases and I REALLY hope it’s my case because I love this camera so dearly so if a representative can plzzz reply to me I’d appreciate it sooo sooo sooo much<3

You need to call Canon, but I would not hope for much.

Your camera was released in 2009 and is well out of service life.  I expect there is little hope of getting anyone to repair it after 15 years.
As regards a trade-in, my understanding is that this applies to only working cameras, and thus your unit would not qualify.

Cameras have come a long, long way from the model you have, and if you decide to get a new unit you will find it vastly outperforms what you are used to.  Have a look at this site and check out what is available.

Greetings,

Afraid its time for a new camera, as finding parts for a camera this old will be difficult or impossible.

Canon does have an upgrade program.  It provides a small discount and free shipping for a new camera.  This is the avenue I would pursue.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PowerShot SD780 IS is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
