Powershot SX50 HS I was shooting when it suddenly went black.

Ok and then what ? It stays black, viewfinder and lcd...have you tried pressing the display putton on the back you may have turned off the displays

No, I didn't turn off the displays; I was in the act of shooting when it went black. My brother is quite a camera buff and he tried several suggestions people had online. Tthe camera is dead and I didn't even have it a year!

Well then if it's less than a year old at least you can have it repaired under warranty ..yes? If so don't wait to long on that !!
