PowerShot SX500 IS Photos have lines and odd colors

I have a Canon SX500 IS, it has been functional for more than 10 years. But few weeks back it developed this problem where the photo turns out to have multiple lines and different colours causing it to be diff from the original photo.

Pls guide on how to fix this issue.

Is this an image through the lens or is it a playback image of a file after you took the photo?
