PowerShot SD800 IS pictures can't download to Windows 11 computer

When I got  My Canon PowerShot SD800 IS I had WIndows XP.  I got New computer Windows 7 Everything worked fine.  I got Windows 10 Everything worked fine.  I now have new WIndows 11 & NOTHING.

I used to be able to take the little card out & put it in the computer & download the pictures I took.  Then it would delete all of the pictures from the card.  I don't want to be on a cloud, or anything else.  Just take a picture, send it to the grandkids.  How do I cope with this?  Me 'n' microsoft are not in the same ballpark.  They are rich.  I am not & cannot buy all their stuff  Is there any fix for my wonderful litle camera?  It has been such a blessing & makes my pictures look really great!

I get the card into the front of the computer, it fits loose & I have to tweak it to get it to connect.  Then I can barely remove it because the thing goes so far in.  Is this me?  The Computer?  The card?

Good point Steve.   The remove devices feature is also available via the tray on the very bottom right of the display.
You will observe an inverted V shape on the left, CLICK on that to get the following expanded list of options.  The one you want is circled in RED: just click on it to have it list the devices available for removal.

Welcome katshall.

Where did you purchase your new computer? They may have a help desk that you could take your computer to. It is much easier when someone can actually see the machine and see what you are describing. For example "I get the card into the front of the computer, it fits loose & I have to tweak it to get it to connect.  Then I can barely remove it because the thing goes so far in.  Is this me?  The Computer?  The card?" An SD card slot should not be loose.

Got it from COSTCO.  They are 150 miles away.  All our town has left in the way of brick & mortar stores that sell computers is Walmart.  Staples bailed 10 years ago.  "sigh"  I will call tomorrow because the stinker has been shutting itself off all afternoon.  Like I am reading a "how to" & CLICK - black screen -   This ayem it at least played a 3 note after the click & black screen.  Since lunch that is not happening.  tapping on keys, or space bar, or mouse is not productive.  So I guess it is time to haul it off to a shop.  I'm gettin' too old for this stuff.  I'm a story teller, a raconteur & one who likes to make folks laugh.  Not an ol' cotton top who hauls out her sledge hammer to smack the computer.   Serenity is gone.  Time to quit for today.  I've had it.  Thanks for the suggestion!
