No flash on my Powershot SX50

I lift the flash on my Powershot SX50 HS, but the flash doesn't go off. Could I have accidentally turned it off?

Yes check in the settings menu for the flash settings it might be off and if you do not have any custom setups stored you can do a reset all to defaults in the settings too which will also turn the flash back on.

Beyond checking the flash settings, if your SX50 happened to be supplied with a hot shoe cover for the EXTERNAL flash then I believe the cover must be removed in order for the INTERNAL flash to operate.
