Hello,
i have had this camera for a very long time but yet when i tried to use it it’s dead and i don’t have a cord to change it, it does have a battery that slides in next to the SIM card. But it’s not working anymore, hasn’t been used for some time but really want to begin using it again, as it was my favorite camera. It is a Canon SX500 IS Power shot. Please help me to know what to buy so that i can charge it and use it once again, as soon as possible! Didn’t know where else to turn. Thank you.

You need to remove the battery and charge it in a dedicated charger. The USB connection is for downloading images from the camera.

Given the age of the camera you will probably need to purchase third party batteries and charger on Amazon.
