I've had the G7X Mark iii for almost 1 year, I rarely use it, but for the last 2 weeks I've been using it as a webcam with a type c cable. I was using it as a webcam for 2 hours a day, then one day my camera screen froze and green and purple lines appeared and then my camera turned itself off. Now my camera won't turn on with the lens still open.

Hello,
It sounds like you're experiencing a serious issue with your Canon G7X Mark III. The symptoms you've described—frozen screen, green and purple lines, and the camera failing to turn on—strongly suggest a hardware malfunction. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and recommended actions:
Possible Causes:
Overheating:
Using the camera for extended periods as a webcam, especially with a constant power supply via USB, can generate significant heat. This could have damaged the internal components, particularly the display or image processor.
Electrical Issues:
Potential issues with the USB power supply or the camera's internal power circuitry could have caused a surge or instability, leading to the malfunction.
Best Regards
