Concern About Suspended Status for Canon SX740 Camera Repair

Jayden22

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping someone here might have some insight or advice regarding my Canon SX740 camera, which I sent in for repair over two weeks ago. My repair status has been stuck on “suspended” for this entire time, and I’m starting to get really worried.

When I called Canon customer service, they mentioned that they don’t actually do repairs on this particular model and that they would instead replace the camera. I was told that the “suspended” status would change once the replacement process began and that the new camera would be shipped to me via FedEx.

However, here’s where my concern grows: the Canon SX740 is consistently sold out and out of stock on the Canon website. I’m left wondering if this means I’ll be stuck waiting indefinitely until they restock—which, given the ongoing “sold out” status, feels like it might be never.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation with Canon or any insight into how long this might take? Should I be expecting a long wait until they restock, or do they typically offer alternative solutions if stock issues persist?

I appreciate any guidance or shared experiences. Thanks so much!

Greetings,

Out of stock products can take a while to get fulfilled, but if Canon has indicated you're going to receive a replacement, I believe it will happen.  Alternatives are sometimes offered if something cannot be fulfilled.  However, there aren't many alternatives in that class of camera.

I would check back with support / repair on a periodic basis.  The number is 1-800-652-2666.
