All of a sudden all pictures taken are completely pitch black no matter what mode is selected. The camera otherswise is completely functional. You can view pictures from before it had this problem and they show properly. Everything else "works". I tried resetting the settings to no avail.
After doing some Google research I saw that it could be the shutter not opening so I took a picture while looking down the lens and strangely I do see a flicker of the shutter closing and opening so why every picture is coming out pitch black is an absolute mystery to me. The only thing I can think of is that the shutter is not opening as much as it should be opening so even if I am seeing a flicker this is still a shutter problem. No idea.
