Hi! I recently did a photoshoot with a Nikon D5100 with a 8GB card SanDisk. I didn't have a cord for the Nikon camera but I have a Canon SX 420 IS with a cord that hooks up to my computer. Now the question I have is, my camera will read the 8GB card and pull up the images from the shoot on my camera. but when I plug in the cord to my computer, my camera doesn't pull up in the files and I can't pull images off. But the camera will pull up if I use a different card. Is there something different about the card or the images? Why won't it pull up in my files?

Nikon files probably won’t be readable on the canon camera. I recommend getting a standalone card reader.

Get a card reader and you will be able to import images from any camera.

Canon does not even guarantee that you can read files from another *Canon* camera.
