Pixma iP4000 photos need expert help

Hello: when the iP4000 works properly it's really good but for some unknown reason has a tendency to fail frequently possibly due to faulty printhead design. The printhead was replaced abt 100 pix ago and worked well until recently when ink cartridges needed replacement. At first the pix were "washed out" but after replacing all 3 colored cartridges the pix now have a reddish tint (magenta was latest of 3 color cartridge replaced). The Canon "product expert" suggested deep cleaning the printheads but no improvement was seen. So i offered to work with Canon engineers to help determine the cause of the problem but now the "product expert" no longer answers my help requests. Apparently Canon is not interested in fixing a common problem (see Google posts). Does anyone have another suggestion for correcting this problem ? I'd really like to recoup the cost of the new printhead & all the Canon cartridges that have been purchased recently. Thanx. Bewildered Bob
