New Pixma iX6820 250PGBK ink cartridge won't stay lit. Will not recognize after closing cover.

Hello,

My new Pixma iX6820 250PGBK ink cartridge won't stay lit. printer will not recognize after closing cover. After sending image to print I recieve support code: 1413 (an ink tank cannot be recognized. Open the printer's cover and replace the inktank on which the ink lamp is off)

when I snap the full cartridge into place it lights up no problem and low ink blinking light goes out. after closing cover however, low ink light comes back on. after opening the cover again the cartridge light is out. Any help is MUCH appreciated!!!

If you are using Canon ink in your PIXMA iX6820, it would appear that your printer may require service.
