Canon MG6120 suddenly only produced completely black scans (overview and scanning process proceeded normally but resulting files were just solid BLACK); printer works fine.
No change in operating system (had NOT updated to Maverick from Mtn Lion).
After reading other forum postings, I updated the 3 drivers (all had been updated in Oct/Nov but I do not receive any notification that updates are available). These updates appear to be minor (e.g. went from 10.72.1.0 to 10.84.2.0).
Now the scanner works fine.
