Now this is a twist. I'm posting a question. 😁
I recently discovered that my MF743 and my church's MF733 are BOTH no longer able to scan to email. What happens is that after the recipient's Email address has been entered, the document scanned and the proper start button pressed (color or B&W), both machines will scan documents as expected. Each machine then starts the transmission process, but maybe 10 or so seconds later, the confirmation sheet spits out with the word "Error" on the left side of the confirmation page.
Now for the details:
Both locations (home & church) are using Verizon Fios.
Both machines use different Outlook addresses to send emails.
Both machine's options were not changed in any way, shape or form.
I defaulted the 743 and reprogrammed to see if that would resolve the issue. (It didn't).
Settings:
Port Number Settings:
LPD (515)
RAW (9100)
WSD Multicast Discovery (3702)
HTTP (80)
Multicast Discovery (427)
POP3 (110)
SMTP (587)
FTP (161)
SNMP (1500)
SMTP Server Address (smtp-mail.outlook.com)
Allow TLS (SMTP) On
SMTP Authentication (On)
Both email address passwords are verified to be correct.
Side note: I tried changing the email address in the church's 733 to a gmail and changed to SMTP to reflect Google's information. A retest still failed.
Thoughts? 🤔

Unfortunately, I gave up trying to troubleshoot the problem. I use Verizon Fios with two different Outlook email addresses. So there are three players involved:
. Canon
. Verizon
. Microsoft
I even tried using a google email address and still no luck. If worse comes to worse, I can scan to a USB drive, load the files to a computer and then either email them or load them to the cloud and do a file share.
I might revisit the problem soon, but my schedule is a bit busy at the moment.

I have Comcast and I'm using Gmail with an app password. It's working fine. You may have to give up using Microsoft 365 since Canon printers do not currently support modern authentication or oauth 2.0. I think Microsoft implemented this in July of this year. At some point, I hope that Canon will be able to release a firmware update to adds Modern Authentication oauth2.0 to its MF series printers.
I don't have any experience with Verizon FiOS. Most ISPs block Port 25 but I would think you could use 465, 587 or 993 without a problem depending on the mail host.

Hi Rick!
I remember trying to use my Gmail email, but that didn't work either. It just seems weird that the imageCLASS all in ones on Verizon Fios lost the ability to scan to email. 🤔

Hi Rick!
I closed the wrong browser and knocked myself out of the chat room. 😞
Thank you for sticking around to help direct us to resolving this problem once & for all. 🙂
